About School:

School draws from International, Chinese and American learning traditions and weaves them into a bilingual education model. School is fully accredited by WASC, IB and IPC. The IPC curriculum is delivered in a bilingual structure in the Primary School (Foundation- Grade 5) and MYP and DP are courses taught in English in the Secondary School. School also includes a boarding program, optional for students in grades 7 and 8, and mandatory in grades 9-12. Through our residential program, our students develop values, close relationships and independence that are essential for young people to contribute positively to their communities and the world.

About Job:

  • • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of boarding; maintaining and enhancing the quality of provision, promoting boarding as a caring, nurturing and supportive environment dedicated to the wellbeing and education of students.
    • Work with House staff, ensuring that world-class safeguarding policies and health and safety procedures are implemented effectively in each House.
    • Maintain positive relationships within and between the boarding houses, ensuring that students are supported academically, socially, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
    • Be responsible for the management, training and development of residential and non-residential staff, ensuring that all staff have a clear understanding of their responsibilities to provide care for students
    • Liaise with Operations and Finance, ensuring that boarding house budgets are effectively, efficiently and rigorously managed.
    • Oversee and develop, in consultation with the Head, an appropriate culture of outstanding achievement, support, and recognition for students at the school.
    • Oversee the management and administration of pastoral and disciplinary procedures aligning them as seamlessly as possible between the Boarding Houses and between boarding and the school.
    • Monitor pastoral progress closely; devise strategies to ensure that each student’s holistic potential is being developed to the fullest possible extent
    • Engage with the parent community to grow positive and productive partnerships and involve parents in significant decisions associated with their child’s education.
    • assist to manage, update and develop school policies

About You:

  • • A minimum of ten years’ teaching experience, including extensive experience in residential positions as a senior leader.
    • Fully qualified with an appropriate education degree, or a Bachelor’s degree
    • Ability to act as an effective and compelling ambassador for the school.
    • A positive, resilient and solution-focused attitude to working life.
    • A commitment to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
    • Experience of working in an English-speaking environment.
